  • Fluid replacements

Check Engine Light Diagnostics
It could be a loose gas cap-or something serious like a failing catalytic converter. Visit us in Washington for quick code reading and diagnostics. At Auto Tech Service, we can pull the code and diagnose the problem for you.

Factory Scheduled Maintenance
Automakers provide a service schedule for each vehicle. Our Washington technicians follow this closely for gas and diesel vehicles, domestic or import, to ensure long-term performance.

Headlight and Bulb Replacement
If your bulbs are dim or out, it's time for a replacement. Our Washington team installs high-quality bulbs to restore visibility and safety.

Hose Replacement
Cracked, dry hoses can leak coolant and cause overheating and prevent optimum performance. We inspect and replace worn hoses to keep your cooling system in top shape.

Oil, Lube & Filter Changes
Most vehicles need oil and filter changes every 3,000 to 7,500 miles. We provide full oil, lube, and filter service at Auto Tech Service to prevent wear and overheating.

Oil Filter FAQs

How often should oil filters be changed?

Consult your owner's manual to determine the recommended maintenance interval for your vehicle's oil filter. Some manufacturers recommend replacing the oil filter every time you get an oil change, while others may recommend replacing it every other oil change.

Why is water leaking on my foot on the driver's side?

The most common cause is a blocked air conditioning drain hose. This is typically a simple repair at Auto Tech Service. Other possible causes of water leaking onto the driver's side floor include a damaged door seal or a leaking heat exchanger. Our technicians can inspect the source of the leak and determine the appropriate repair.

Why is my car leaking a sweet-smelling fluid?

If there is a sweet-smelling fluid leaking from your vehicle, coolant or antifreeze may be the source. A coolant leak can become a serious problem if left unaddressed. If your vehicle gets too low on coolant or antifreeze, the engine can overheat and potentially suffer engine damage. Have the vehicle inspected promptly to locate and repair the leak.

FAQs About Automobile Squeaks, Squeals and Rattles

Why are my wheels making a chirping sound when I accelerate?

The most common reason your car's wheels make a chirping or squealing sound, especially during acceleration, is a bad wheel bearing. If you notice a grinding or grating noise coming from a wheel, this can also be a sign that a wheel bearing is beginning to fail. If you're in Washington, , , , or the surrounding area, come by Auto Tech Service and we can diagnose the problem quickly.

Why does my car make a noise when I turn the steering wheel?

If your car makes strange sounds or clicking noises when you turn the steering wheel, one possible cause is low power steering fluid. As the fluid level drops, air can enter the power steering system and cause unwanted noises.

Come to Auto Tech Service to have the power steering system inspected and the fluid level checked. If the noise returns quickly after the fluid is topped off, your vehicle may have a power steering fluid leak. Our professionals in Washington can diagnose the source of the problem and recommend the appropriate repair.

Why is my car making a squealing noise?

A squealing or chirping noise may be caused by a slipping or misaligned belt. These noises can occur when a belt and pulley are not properly aligned or when the belt is becoming worn. If you come by Auto Tech Service in Washington, our professional auto repair technicians can inspect the belt and pulley system, determine the source of the noise, and make the necessary repairs before the belt fails completely.

The transmission cooling line on my Ford F-150 truck burst near Union Station last Friday. Not knowing DC, I asked the tow truck driver to take the truck to a nearby shop that he felt was reputable. Miguel and his team fit me in to their hectic schedule that day. The transmission turned out to be too far gone to be saved. But his team managed to patch the line well enough that I got the truck back to Fredericksburg from DC without having it towed. Miguel was a life saver for me that day. I highly recommend Auto Tech Service.

First time customer- car was making a noise that I thought might be the brakes. Dropped car off at 9 am and had a call with a quote for new brakes by 9:30 am. The job was done the same day at a very reasonable price. I will be going back to these guys and would recommended them to anyone else.

Amazing service! I took my car in for an oil change, and brought in headlights & taillights for them to change. They did everything the same day and changed my lights for free! Turns out I had brought in the wrong kind of headlight, but they installed one they had on hand and asked me to bring them a replacement whenever was convenient for me to "reimburse" them for the part. Said he didn't want me to be pulled over for having a burnt out headlight. I couldn't believe it! Kind, friendly people who are quick, efficient, and reasonably priced. You can't beat it!

I have been there a few times with my personal truck ('96 Dodge Dakota) and work vehicle ('12 Nissan Pathfinder). I have always been confident in their work.

Just today was the very first time we dropped off our vehicle at this place. My husband was there around 7:30/8am and was the first customer to arrive. He left our Jeep commander, 2007, and a few hours later, we received a call from the mechanic. The issue we had was so severe, too intricate of work required, and that is exactly what he told us as well. “Best you take the car to the dealer” with a thorough explanation as to why. He DID NOT charge us anything and we greatly appreciate that. We will, unfortunately, have to take it to the dealer, but we will take our car back to this place for any future issues.

I went in today with the oil leak problem in Chevy Cruze, he first did a diagnosis and later fixed the problem saying it was just a minor issue. He also helped me with the front headlight fixing a loose wire. And the EXTRAORDINARY part was he did not charge me anything. My experience today was WONDERFUL and they are simply AMAZING, TRUSTWORTHY and HONEST, in other words, THE BEST. I am going to recommend Auto Tech Services to all my friends.
